Windows 10: End of Life (EOL) in a year’s time

A year from now, the time will have come: Support for Windows 10 will officially cease on 14th October 2025. After that date, there will be no more updates – not even to close any security gaps.

Support for Windows 10 will officially cease on 14th October 2025 (end of Life, EOL). For security reasons, you should therefore no longer be using Windows 10 after that date.

If you are still using Windows 10, we would recommend switching to Windows 11 or an alternative operating system by then. This is important to ensure your device continues to operate smoothly and securely.

Microsoft has announced that just like with Windows 7, there will be a chargeable Extended Security Update program (ESU program). This will provide an annual security update subscription for a maximum of three additional years. Microsoft will provide customers not considering a switch to a more current Windows version with more time to change this way. Further information on this issue can be found here. As described above, we would recommend you switch straight to Windows 11 or to an alternative operating system.
