To ensure you are e-banking safely, you should follow a few important instructions when logging in and out.
Securely navigating to your financial institute’s site
Always manually enter the address of your e-banking site into your browser address bar. Never use a link you were sent, e. g. via e-mail! In addition, we would recommend only visiting your e-banking website from a secure computer which is well-known to you (i. e. not from any Internet cafes, etc.).
No other Internet websites open
Do not open any other Internet websites or e-mails while a connection to your e-banking site is made, and while you are using it.
Checking the connection is secure
Make sure that you are connected to your financial institution via a «secure» connection («https» and lock symbol are shown in the address bar), and check the certificate. (You can read up here how to check the certificate.)
Be careful in case of system interruption or unusual error messages
If there is a system interruption during the Internet session (e. g. suddenly, a white screen appears) or there are any unusual error messages while logging in (e. g. «The system is currently busy. We would like to ask for your patience, and to try again later»), immediately cancel your connection, and contact your financial institution experts.

Correctly closing your e-banking session
Close down your e-banking session correctly using the relevant function (usually called «Sign out», «Log off» or «Finish»).
Emptying the browser cache
Every time you log off from an e-banking session, you should delete your browser cache.
