Malware is the generic term for software which executes malicious functions on a device (such as viruses, worms, Trojans, ransomware).&lt;\/div&gt;\n\"  data-mobile-support=\"0\"  data-gt-translate-attributes='[{\"attribute\":\"data-cmtooltip\", \"format\":\"html\"}]' tabindex='0' role='link'>malware<\/span> can also affect smartphones and tablets, especially if important security precautions are neglected.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>As recent Comparis research has shown, as much as every fourth Swiss smartphone is insufficiently protected, the main reason being that updates provided to eliminate <span class=\"glossaryLink\" aria-describedby=\"tt\" data-cmtooltip=\"&lt;div class=glossaryItemTitle&gt;Vulnerability&lt;\/div&gt;&lt;div class=glossaryItemBody&gt;A vulnerability is a term denominating a vulnerability found in any hardware or software which could trigger unexpected, unwanted system behaviour under certain conditions.&lt;\/div&gt;\n\" data-mobile-support=\"0\" data-gt-translate-attributes=\"[{&quot;attribute&quot;:&quot;data-cmtooltip&quot;, &quot;format&quot;:&quot;html&quot;}]\" tabindex=\"0\" role=\"link\">vulnerabilities<\/span> in mobile device operating systems and apps are neglected and not actually run.<\/p>\n<p>An antivirus app also significantly reduces the risk of <span class=\"glossaryLink\"  aria-describedby=\"tt\"  data-cmtooltip=\"&lt;div class=glossaryItemTitle&gt;Malware&lt;\/div&gt;&lt;div class=glossaryItemBody&gt;The term is made up of the terms &amp;quot;malicious&rdquo; and &amp;quot;software&rdquo;. Android phones in particular are at serious risk here, in particular if financial transactions such as invoice payments are processed using a tablet or smartphone. Internet fraudsters are currently trying to infiltrate unprotected Android mobile devices with a mobile banking <span class=\"glossaryLink\"  aria-describedby=\"tt\"  data-cmtooltip=\"&lt;div class=glossaryItemTitle&gt;Trojan Horse&lt;\/div&gt;&lt;div class=glossaryItemBody&gt;Malware disguising itself as something useful or a game, however with completely different objectives in reality.
