This process usually serves to advise the system that a session is about to start now, and that users would like to be connected to one of their user accounts, e. g. their e-banking account.&lt;\/div&gt;\n\" data-mobile-support=\"0\" data-gt-translate-attributes=\"[{&quot;attribute&quot;:&quot;data-cmtooltip&quot;, &quot;format&quot;:&quot;html&quot;}]\" tabindex=\"0\" role=\"link\">logging in<\/span>, and that <strong>no-one looks over your shoulder<\/strong> while you do so.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<h3>Securely navigate to your financial institution website<\/h3>\n<p>To avoid falling victim to a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ebas.ch\/en\/phishing\/\">phishing attempt<\/a>, you should make sure that you are actually connected to your financial institution before logging into your e-banking facility.<\/p>\n<p>To do so, always enter the address for your financial institution&rsquo;s e-banking page manually via the <span class=\"glossaryLink\"  aria-describedby=\"tt\"  data-cmtooltip=\"&lt;div class=glossaryItemTitle&gt;Browser&lt;\/div&gt;&lt;div class=glossaryItemBody&gt;A special computer program to display websites on the World Wide Web (WWW) or data and documents in general. The most important browsers used on the Internet are Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, Microsoft Edge and Apple Safari.&lt;\/div&gt;\n\"  data-mobile-support=\"0\"  data-gt-translate-attributes='[{\"attribute\":\"data-cmtooltip\", \"format\":\"html\"}]' tabindex='0' role='link'>browser<\/span> address line.&nbsp;<strong>Never use any links you were sent, e. g. via e-mail or SMS, and no search engines such as Google, Bing or similar either!<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>We also recommend to only ever use your e-banking facility on a familiar and secure device (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.ebas.ch\/en\/5-steps-for-your-digital-security\/\">&ldquo;5 steps for your digital security&rdquo;<\/a>)&nbsp; (i.e. don&rsquo;t use any public devices in a hotel, etc.).<\/p>\n<h3>Check that the connection is secure<\/h3>\n<p>Since you have to enter sensitive and private details (for instance your <span class=\"glossaryLink\" aria-describedby=\"tt\" data-cmtooltip=\"&lt;div class=glossaryItemTitle&gt;Password&lt;\/div&gt;&lt;div class=glossaryItemBody&gt;Serves for authentication. Depending on the software used, the above two actions &ldquo;Securely navigate to your financial institution website&rdquo; and &ldquo;Check that the connection is secure&rdquo; are then irrelevant, or you may not even be able to perform them.<\/p>\n<h3>Caution in case of system disruptions or unusual errors messages<\/h3>\n<p>If there is a system interruption while logging into your e-banking facility (for instance a white screen suddenly appears), or if there are any unusual error messages, (for instance &ldquo;The system is currently overloaded.
