Prevention campaign run by “Card Security gegen Phishing”

This week sees the launch of the prevention campaign run by “Card Security gegen Phishing”, focusing on credit and debit card fraud.

Credit and debit card fraud is mostly committed on the Internet nowadays. The majority of card crime could be avoided if card owners were to follow certain basic rules.

If you take just a few precautions, you can protect yourself:

  • Always check the sender e-mail address.
  • Don’t pass on any access data or codes.
  • Thoroughly scrutinise all links and URLs.
  • Look for errors: Incorrect logos or typing errors.
  • Only pay if you are absolutely sure.
  • Don’t act under pressure.
  • Activate 3-D Secure.
  • Check up on stores (“Trusted Shop”).

You can find detailed information on the topic of phishing in our article on phishing.
